  4. If Ray Hooper had thought of it he would have purchased one of those machines and used it on those 'bloody trouble makers', with Council approval of course.
He would have also sent an internal CONFIDENTIAL Memorandum inviting ALL Staff to watch.

  6. What is this I read ? Yet another person employed by us to serve us allegedly wants to silence us ?

If true, who and what could such a person really be serving (aside from the usual ideology driven hubris we all tend to be guilty of from time to time) ?

For those who are worried about disappearing blogs (as if anything really truly can disappear from the internut) I suggest to all and sundry that, at very least, you take webpage copies of that which you wish to be remembered.

    For example, try this: http://shireofyork6302.blogspot.com.au/feeds/posts/default?max-results=1000
and then use your web browser to save a copy of what then displays.

Thus, if need be, copies of (images and) all that is currently available on this particular blog site, both current and archived, could always find another hosted home should the need arise ...

Deem "government of the people, by the people, for the people", included.

Apologies for posting anon but current employment virtually forbids me from posting otherwise. That said, be confident this blog has been shared to and read by local government employees in at least one city council. Oh, and before those who are inclined to throw stones ask, yes, I too am a government employee but fear not for the use of your tax dollar for I am writing this comment on my own time on my own computer and using my own/home internut connection.

I find it a great pity that over at least the last decade, W.A.'s oldest inland settlement seems to have become a poster child on how NOT to run a Shire. Here is to hoping though that not only are the apparent past injustices properly and fairly investigated and dealt with for York but also some sort of broom is put through the government department who, arguably, appears to have had no legitimate cause to issue a "show cause" let alone suspend the York council.

As for whoever the blog owner(s)/master(s) is/are, I certainly don't need to know. Here is to hoping though that the quality of the articles and comments are kept to a reasonable and useful standard.

So, good on you whoever you are and may your blog increase in popularity.

  7. The bloke on the rack isn't me, it's Pat Hooper. I don't have a beard. Pat must have agreed to take one for the team.

  8. The blog is circulated widely amongst other shires and we wait anxiously to see what the FOI application shakes out - but don't hold your breadth - the department will pull every trick in the book to avoid exposure.

And what happened to the post about Mia Davies. Has it been pulled?

Now that is one Public Servant worth keeping. Nice to know we have one on our side!
Thank you for taking an interest and please forward the link to as many people as you can.
I have always known deep down there are some very good hard working people in the Public Service. It's just unfortunate the rotten ones ferment and pop to the surface and they become the face we see and are forced to deal with.

I for one have been selecting, copying and keeping all information and comments daily, it is way too important not to.
The information will in time be an intrinsic part of York's History. OK it may not be the sort of History certain snobby York people want to see up at the Residency Museum but whether they like it or not, we are creating our History and this Blog is part of it.
Generations to come will scratch their heads and ask some embarrassing questions of Grandpa and Grandma Boyle, Hooper Duperouzel and good old Ray. Not that they will tell the truth mind you.

Unfortunately for the Ex Councillors and Ex CEO involved, this Blog will haunt them for the rest of their lives - and I say serves them right.

  10. Seems Ray Hooper was an expert at forcing people to do exactly what he wanted, then wonders why he was likened to Hitler!

It is time for more Staff to come forward. A couple of have already spoken out on the Blog. One has offered to come forward and speak should there be an inquiry.
For the rest of the Staff, here's a question you may like to think about:
Did you do things you were asked to do, because you feared you would lose your job?
    - now is the time to say so.
Start getting it recorded on the Blog - use a false name.

    1. These comparisons with Hitler must cease. Hitler had less than the usual quota of gonads, a fact celebrated in a famous marching song of the Second World War. Anyone who can screw three shire councils in succession would need at least two.

  11. England is this year celebrating 800 years of democracy.
800 years since the majority were released from the tyranny of the few.
800 years since the signing of the Magna Carta.

Should we send you a few copies, just to remind your political would be dictators that democracy and free speech are actually still alive and thriving.

    POWER TO THE BLOG.

You know, this smiling bloke in the picture looks more real (I mean the face) than does that angelic heavenly-being face in the official photos on the blog and in the papers. Maybe there is more to him than even he himself has let on. You never know. But he has to work fast if he is to convince us, with only 5/6 time left.
